One of the lines from the inscription on the Statue of Liberty says:
“Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the Golden Door”
Our new Home of Grace Children’s Home will be a golden door to more than 100 desperate children
WORLDCOMP KENYA’S
WELCOME HOME CAMPAIGN
Kakamega Kenya
On April 1st 2019 we will begin the process of moving our first 70 kids into our new Home of Grace Children’s Home in Western Kenya. This is a day we have been planning for more than 4 years and it will be a massive undertaking. By the end of April all of our kids will need to be enrolled in school and settled in to their new home.
Fifty of these kids will be coming into a children’s home for the first time. Some will be coming straight from the streets. Others will be coming from government run social service facilities and others will be coming from temporary housing situations with relatives or family friends.
We are praying that God will help us to raise $25,000 in next month of to cover the costs of resettling these precious children into a new environment where they will be loved and cared for and look forward to a new future in Christ. The $25,000 that we raise will be used for things like school fees and books, new clothes, foot lockers, mattresses, blankets and medical checkups.
Later on we hope to raise money for things like computers and library supplies. My big dream will be to buy two 30-passenger vans to take our kids to school, church and other outings. I pray that God will lay this on the heart of some of our donors as a project for their group. In the month of April we will be giving you the opportunity to sponsor one of our children and we will be sending out information on that.
I particularly want to appeal to those who have been receiving our communications but have not yet given to Worldcomp. If you have thought about it, but haven’t yet responded, I want to say “We need you now, more than ever!” Please consider a one time gift for this critical time in the lives of our kids. And believe me, no gift is too small! Every little bit helps!
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Some of my friends who serve the poor have said, “I will not be a beggar!” but I have often said; “I am a shameless beggar when it comes the lives of children and the poor.” I actually feel like I am doing people a great service by giving them an opportunity to fulfill one of God’s dearest wishes and that is that we give to the poor and the needy.
I know there are many groups and organizations asking you for your money and I hope you are at least responding to some as the Lord leads, because all of us need to be doing something to help.
Please add “Welcome Home” to the memo line of your check or online gift.
I promise you that your gift will go to its intended purpose and not be wasted on overhead. None of us, here in America, takes a salary from your donations.
Please give this some thought and do as you feel directed of the Lord.
In His Service,
Richard Vicknair
