OUR ADVENTURE BEGINS
First miracle! All of our team arrived on time and we cleared check in with 53 suitcases in 15 minutes. Now we are now at 37,000 feet enduring our 14-hour flight to Dubai, where we will have an overnight stay.
Among the students and staff there is a very high level of excitement. We are praying that each and every one of us will see God at work as we interact with the people of Kenya. Our focus will be especially on the children; children who are growing up with none of the material things we have and who live from day to day with very little food.
Last Sunday as I was watching the King’s Students prepare some presentations for their outreach in Kenya a thought occurred to me. One of the main reasons that we see great results on mission’s trips is that we “prepare to share”. Imagine what might happen in the daily routines of our lives if we “prepared to share” here at home. Just a thought!
Before we left one of our team leaders had bright red t-shirts made that say “Just Doing it for Jesus”. This slogan has been displayed in all of our works for a number of years. It’s always a hoot to see doctors in our medical camps sporting clean with lab coats that say “Doing it for Jesus” on the back. Funny thing is, many of them don’t know Jesus when they first start working with us.
We would so appreciate your prayers, not only for our safety and well being, but even more that every one of these great young people would develop a passion for the poor and the suffering in this world.
Blessings to all of you back home.
More to come later
